Winery located on the hill overlooking the city of Arezzo, the Alpe di Poti, this side of the hill offers an excellent southern exposure, and a breathtaking view of the valley. The 34-hectare estate includes three recently restored farms, each with its own swimming pool and the innovative winemaking cellar, carefully restored and cared for both the buildings and the vineyards that surround them. Every year a careful selection of the grapes allows the company to achieve excellent quality levels that the farm always aims to pursue and improve in each of the business sectors (agritourism, organic extra virgin olive oil, organic wine).
The company won a first prize as the most innovative farm in Tuscany. The cellar in Bio-Architecture has allowed to be selected among the 14 most beautiful design wineries in Tuscany, within the project of the Region, Tuscany Wine Architecture.
The estate is located on a terracing of the hill, exposed to the south-west, with a perfect sun exposure, along the ancient Etruscan-Roman road that already millennia ago connected those that are now the centers of Sansepolcro and Anghiari with the ancient Arretium road. The center of Arezzo is just 10 minutes away.
The first farmhouse is located in a panoramic area facing south-west between vineyards and olive groves, perfectly restored preserves the features of the typical Tuscan country house with thick stone walls and chestnut beams. On two floors, it has 5 bedrooms all with bathrooms and a large living area with kitchen, living room and dining area.
The villa is an ancient building whose foundations date back to the XIII century. Arranged on two levels, it is composed of 5 double rooms each with its own bathroom with shower, a fully equipped kitchen equipped with all modern equipment, a living room, a dining room, a laundry area with another bathroom with shower. The rooms are all finely furnished, each with its own characteristics, but always reflecting the typical atmosphere of the old Tuscan farmhouse, with brick arches, exposed beams and terracotta floors.
Outside there is a porch under which you can have lunch, while enjoying the wonderful view of the vineyards and the valley below. The garden and the private pool of the villa provide plenty of space to sit and relax, such as the pool solarium and the gazebo nearby.
And finally, the third building, composed of two real estate units, presents the characteristics of the typical Leopoldine houses in prototypes designed in 1700 by the architects of the Grand Duke Leopold of Lorraine. The house, placed as it is in the hills, does not have the classic dovecote as they have the same houses of the plain areas. From the loggia on the ground floor there is access to the large private front garden and to the swimming pool with their splendid panoramic view. But in the loggia on the first floor, where the original wood-burning oven is located, the view over the valley is even more suggestive. The finishes of the farmhouse are elegant, everything is taken care of in every detail and the environment is refined and comfortable. The constructive characteristics allow this building to be included in the highest energy saving class foreseen by legislation with positive implications for the environment. The living areas are also spacious and comfortable and each floor has a living room, kitchen and dining room over the three bedrooms with their respective services. The upper floor is connected to the outside, as well as by comfortable original stone stairs, with a wooden bridge that gives access to the garden on the mountain side and to the pool. In the main dining room the large fireplace makes the environment particularly warm and romantic.
This ancient estate today consists of a well-established modern farm and organized mainly for the production of wine. Currently, 3 hectares of vineyards are in full production, of which 2 of Chianti wines are the result of organic vines and an absolute environmental respect. The small artisan production of wine of about 15,000 / 20,000 bottles a year is mainly obtained from Sangiovese grapes. In the Podere winery, only company grapes are processed and the Bio and Sustainable wines obtained express our territory in all its elegance. The excellent exposure of the soils and the altitude of about 550 msl, also due to the good thermal excursions in the phase of maturation that follow, favor the formation of the perfumes while the draining and rich soil of skeleton allows to obtain perfumed wines with a characteristic mineral note.
Land: 34 ha of land of which 3 ha of vineyard with the possibility of planting a further ha of vineyard, about 9.50 ha covered by verdant woods, while the remainder has been cultivated with olive grove, orchard, family vegetable garden and pastures. The average production of extra virgin olive oil is 4 Q per year and is held by over 400 olive trees. Most of the land,17 hectares, is fenced and constitutes a closed-end fund.
